The Futuremaker Video Competition celebrates the unlimited potential of Wisconsin's Technical College students. That means you (and/or your entire team) must be currently enrolled in one of the state's 16 technical colleges to participate. Here's how:
- Sixteen student and/or team semifinalists will be chosen. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality of presentation, effectiveness of communication and weighted voting from viewers.
- Videos in each Wisconsin technical college district will be eligible for selection to advance to the state semifinals. One video from each district will advance to the state semifinals. Semifinalists will compete for three grand prizes, $2,500, $1,000 and $500, to be awarded at the Futuremaker Video Competition awards presentation in April 2010.
It's about you-what you've done, where you're going and why you're proud to be a Futuremaker. Show us on video how your technical college experience is helping you make your future happen. Think creative. Think fun. Think Futuremaker. Think.
Need some inspiration? Here are a few idea starters:
- Present your vision of your future.
- Tell us about something you've accomplished at technical college that you are proud of.
- Get others involved. Think classmates, instructors, employers, friends and family.
- Show how you're getting where you want to go.
- Tell us about some of your favorite experiences.

- Fill out the competition entry form and create a short video describing how you're making your future at your technical college. Complete your submission (which must include a URL link to your video on YouTube.com) by 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 15, 2010.
- Students must say their name and the Wisconsin technical college they are currently attending at the beginning of the video.
- Students must repeat their name, followed by “…and I am a Futuremaker” at the end of the video.
- One video per student/team please.
- Videos must be three minutes or shorter.
- Videos must be 1 GB or smaller.
- Videos must be saved in .AVI, .MOV, .WMV or .MPG file formats.
- Video submissions must be uploaded to YouTube.com before you can complete the required registration form. Learn how
